Utah

Liam and I got to visit family in Utah for a week. We had a great time! Jayden was so excited to see Liam again. He is going to be a great big brother.

Jayden would talk to Liam and bring him toys and Liam loved playing with Jayden's hair. They were a cute little pair.

Liam and his Great Aunt. Leza came all the way from Texas to spend some time with this little cutie. It was a nice little family reunion.
Liam's cute halloween sleeper. Look at the adorable jack-o-lantern feet!

While we were gone we had planned on skyping with Brayden, but of course it didn't work. Thankfully Leza got this sweet video of Liam dancing. We sent it to Brayden to lift his spirit after a hard week.

Life without Dad :(

While Brayden was applying for medical school so many people joked with me by saying, "Well, get a good look at him now because you won't see him." They were right. Medical school is crazy! They require so much, but Brayden is doing awesome so at least his hard work is paying off! With Brayden being gone or hidden in the basement all the time, Liam and I have made lots of friends here.
Fun at the aquarium
Candice and Landon on the train. A retired man in the area took a big field and built a train track around it. During the summer he gives rides. The kids love it...especially when we go through the tunnel.

Swimming
 Deanna Rose farm
 Game night at the Nelson's
And finally...pool party where all of our husbands are actually there with us!! After finals we all get to relax and enjoy time with our spouses :)

White Coat Ceremony

This is a ceremony that honors the students for getting into medical school. They had a few speakers that warned them of the highs and lows that they will experience as they go through school. In the end it will all be worth it...that's what they said and I'm taking their word for it and hoping they're right!
Before the ceremony

Professor presenting him with his white coat
And now they wait...it was kind of awkward for all the students because about ten students would go up on stage at a time. They would receive their white coat and then stand there and smile for almost a minute as the camera scanned each student so we (the audience) could see them on the big screen. Because Brayden is a "W" he was in the last group to go up and had plenty of time to think about what he was going to do. There were those that tried to give a big smile, but the time the camera was on them their smile had turned to a forced grin with eyes going from side to side wondering if the camera was off of them yet. Brayden didn't want that to happen to him so he decided he would just do a neutral face...his neutral face somehow ended up looking like a very angry one! It was really funny :)

After the ceremony there was a nice dinner at the Marriott Hotel downtown. We didn't get a picture of the food, but there was a ton of it and it was delicious!
It was an exciting night! Our sweet neighbors watched Liam for us so we got to stay out late and get to know lots of new people.

Kansas City Adventures

We were excited to finally get moved in and start our new life in Kansas City. My parents helped us a ton by getting all moved in and settled so once that was done we headed out to have some fun!

Last day in a hotel and this kid was excited!
P.S. We did not pose him for this picture...he just naturally had his cute little hands folded :)

Aquarium
As I've mentioned before, Liam loves fish so we had to check out the new aquarium. We were there for hours because Liam loved it so much!
Waiting to get in with Grandma and Grandad Harris

He couldn't take his eyes off the fish

Wishing he could dive in with them!

 Brayden being Brayden....silly :)

KCUMB Tour
Brayden's mentor, Greg, was kind enough to give us a tour of the campus while my parents were in town. You have to have your badge to get into every building so he offered to take us around.

 One of the main buildings

Kansas City is known as the "City of Fountains" and I can see why. Everywhere you go, you are bound to see a fountain. This is one of the smaller ones on campus.

It was fun having my family there to help and explore the city!

Royals Game
To start the year off the school invited the students and families to a barbeque and Royals game. The food was delicious and the game was....well, I think we won :)

It was EXTREMELY hot and humid so the little guy was not enjoying the game. The sun was also right on us so that didn't help.
We spent most of the first half of the game out where the shade was sipping on cold water. He was a little happier at that point.

I love that they had a fountain at the game too. It would light up in different colors once it got dark. We couldn't stay the entire game because Liam had to get to bed, but it was a fun night.
