April

April is a busy and fun month for us! First we started the month off with spring break! A week of no school and being home with my handsome boys. Liam is talking more and more, and he just gets sweeter and sweeter everyday! I love my boys :)

He has been practicing tummy time. Usually he doesn't like it, but today he didn't mind it so much.

Anniversary

While I was on Spring Break, Brayden and I celebrated our anniversary early. It was nice because then we got to have a couple of days to celebrate rather than just an evening. My mom watched Liam, which was convenient because then we could go up and kiss him anytime we wanted. I started it off with a message on the mirror and a big breakfast. Throughout the day there were clues hidden that lead him to our different events. At each clue there was also a special gift or surprise.

  

With his first clue he received shotgun shells. After breakfast we headed to the shooting range. Brayden bought a new shotgun a couple of months ago and has been dying to shoot it. I knew I'd earn some brownie points if I took him shooting :) In the car with his second clue he got clay pigeons and a clay shooter...we were set and ready to go.

He's so manly!

Brayden was shooting at a ball, some cans, a silhouette target, and a baby doll head (no, we did not bring a doll head to shoot at! We found it at the range and it just became one of our targets...little creepy, I know). Brayden hit something on every shot...he's amazing!

I definitely need some more practice!

After a long day of shooting he found another clue that led him to a Tucanos gift card. We went to the movies, not just the dollar theatre, but the REAL movies. We were going all out! We watched Oz, The Great and Powerful, and then went to dinner at Tucanos. While at dinner he found clue number four, which was an invitation to stay a night in the jungle. The jungle can be a scary place so I'm glad we got our shooting practice in earlier that day.

There were animals everywhere, but I wasn't scared because I had my strong man with me :) The next morning he found clue number five that led us on a hike up Y mountain. It was the perfect weather for a hike.

The date ended with burgers and a nice long nap. I had so much fun hanging out with my charming husband!

Brayden's Birthday

Brayden's birthday is also in April. He turned 27 this year. I was trying to think of something cool about 27 so I could make his birthday special, but what is cool about turning 27? Nothing! So instead of doing something special I just decided that I would remind him constantly how old he was turning. Every hour on the 27th minute on April 11th I had an alarm go off somewhere in the house that had a gift, love note, or candy in it. Every hour he was reminded that he was now 27 years old. Time flies when you're having fun!

And finally...Our latest obsession is watching our cute son fall asleep. As a gift we got a video monitor and we completely love it. We can talk to him through it like a walkie talkie. That's fun because he kind of looks around to see where we are. It is so cute!!!
