I saw a card that said, "Do you knowwhy we celebrate Father's Day? Because a month after Mother's Day somebody said, "Hey wait a minute?..." Moms are awesome, but Dads are pretty special too. They bring unique gifts to relationships that cannot be replaced. We LOVE our Dads! So here is a big shout out to the 3 amazing fathers in my life. They are the best and deserve to be recognized :)
First off...Brayden Willis
This man is the love of my life and my absolute everything! He gave me a beautiful son and has been the best father to him. He has worked hard being Mr. Mom these past 5 months. There were so many days I would come home to a clean house and dinner in the crockpot. It can't get much better than that!? Brayden makes me feel special all the time. He never misses a moment to tell me I'm beautiful or how much he loves me. I also love his sweet little lines that I come to expect...Me: How was your day? Him: Better now (with a sweet sincere smile), or Me: I'm going to go change. Him: But I like you just the way you are.
Cheesy, I know! But I just love it!!! I'm getting a little carried away, the topic is fathers...So what makes Brayden such an amazing father? He is so good with Liam! He knows how to really make Liam laugh, how to calm him down when he's sad, and is the best at changing diapers! He is extremely proud of his son and they have a special bond. Whenever I am holding Liam and Brayden walks into the room, Liam's eyes go straight to him and continue to follow him wherever he goes. They are the cutest together!
Guy Harris
This is my sweet Dad who has been a great example to me in life. There are so many reasons why I love him. My Dad is so kind and would do anything for anyone. I remember when I was young I loved having my back scratched before I went to bed at night. Of course that's not fun for him to scratch my back while I fall asleep, but he did it anyways. He also makes the corniest, but funniest jokes. Any time I am with my Dad he keeps me laughing and smiling. There were many times growing up that I could look to my Dad for advice. I didn't always seek advice through talking, but just by watching him and seeing his example I would be led to the right decision. He is a silent leader that doesn't get the recognition that he usually deserves. I appreciate his testimony. I have seen it grow through the years and I am grateful for his strength. I love him so much!
Richard Willis
Finally I have my sweet father in law, Ric. He has been a wonderful father to me, and especially to Brayden growing up. I know Brayden would have a lot to add to this, but I am just going to write mostly about my own experiences with him. I remember the first time I went to Washington to meet Brayden's family and everyone was so nice and welcoming the entire time. Then on the last day when we were leaving Ric pulled me aside and told me how much he enjoyed having me here and how happy he would be to have me in his family. That meant a lot to me and thinking about that moment still brings tears to my eyes. Another memorable moment with Ric was last summer when he knew Brayden was gone for the week at Scout camp. Since I was alone he called me one day to check on me, see how things were going, and to just keep me company for a bit while my husband was gone. Sadly, my phone was dying so we didn't get to talk long, but that phone call meant a lot. Those are two experiences that show the kind, hearfelt, considerate man that Ric is. I am blessed to have him as a father. I love him very much!
